Where a figure comes from a source, we say so. Where something is uncertain, we say that too.

But Indian property law, tax rates and municipal procedure change constantly, sometimes with little notice and sometimes retrospectively. In the eighteen months to August 2026 alone, Bengaluru's municipal corporation was dissolved and replaced, the property registration charge doubled, capital gains rules were rewritten, Khata records moved to a new digital system, and the fee to convert a B-Khata changed twice.
