Privacy policy

Estate Bengaluru ("we", "us", "our") operates www.estatebengaluru.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who processes it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

We are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described below, under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it.

1. What we collect

When you contact us. If you submit an enquiry form, a property check request, or write to us: your name, phone number, email address, and whatever property details you choose to share. If you contact us on WhatsApp, the content of that conversation.

When you browse. Standard analytics data: pages visited, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, how you arrived at the site, and how you move through it. Collected through Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel.

We do not ask for and do not want your Aadhaar number, PAN, bank details, passwords, or copies of identity or property documents through this website. If a service requires those, we will collect them separately and tell you why at the time.

2. Why we collect it

• To respond to your enquiry and provide the service you asked for
• To contact you about that enquiry and related services
• To understand how the site is used, so we can improve it
• To measure which of our marketing brings genuine enquiries
• To meet legal and regulatory obligations that apply to us

3. Our lawful basis

We process your personal data on the basis of the consent you give when you submit a form or continue to use the site with analytics active, and for certain limited uses, because it is necessary to provide a service you have specifically requested.

You can withdraw consent at any time, by writing to the address in section 10. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out, and may mean we can no longer provide a service you have asked for.

4. Who processes it, and where

We do not sell your data. We share it only where necessary:

Each processes data on our behalf or on their own terms, and we share only what is necessary for that purpose.

Cross-border processing. Netlify, Google and Meta operate infrastructure outside India, so your data may be processed outside India. We use these providers on their standard terms and only as permitted under applicable Indian law.

5. How long we keep it

Enquiry data: for as long as we may reasonably need it to serve you, and no longer than we have a legitimate reason to. Property transactions have long tails and clients often return years later, so we do not delete enquiry records on a fixed short schedule.

Analytics data: according to the retention settings of Google Analytics and Meta, which we set to the shortest period that remains useful.

You can ask us to delete your data at any time, and we will, unless we are legally required to retain something.

6. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may:

• Ask what we hold about you and how we have processed it
• Ask us to correct anything inaccurate, incomplete or out of date
• Ask us to erase your personal data
• Withdraw your consent to processing, at any time
• Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to
• Raise a grievance, through the mechanism in section 10

We will not charge you for any of this.

7. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising measurement, through Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's own browser add-on. Parts of the site may work less well if you do.

We do not use cookies to identify you personally, and we do not sell cookie data.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.

If a personal data breach occurs that affects you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as required under the Act.

9. Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data, tell us and we will delete it.

Write to us with any question, request or complaint about your personal data. We will respond within 90 days, and in practice a great deal sooner.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a change that materially affects how we handle your data, we will say so on this page rather than change it quietly.

12. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of India. The courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from it.
